WARDOGS Season 2 patch notes at a glance

These WARDOGS Season 2 patch notes explain Update 0.2.0 through the changes a returning player is most likely to notice: equipment choices, role progression, combat balance and the cost of building a loadout. BULKHEAD confirmed the release on October 15, 2026, in its official Season 2 live announcement. This page is an original guide to the longer notes, rather than a reproduction of their full change list.

Release and timing: the planned maintenance window was October 15, 08:00–09:30 UTC. The notice reporting servers back online was published at 09:59:12 UTC. That publication time is not a measured recovery instant. See the official maintenance plan and our global update-time reference for the distinction.

The release adds four weapons, four vehicle variants, three buildables and a rain weather preset. It also changes rewards, unlock tracks, suppression, team switching and several vehicle systems. Start with the section that affects your usual role; reading only the new-weapon list misses changes to existing equipment and the economy.

New weapons: unlock cost and purchase price are different

The table separates progression access from the listed weapon price. An unlock payment is not the same as buying the weapon for a life, and a default track unlock does not make the vendor item free. Magazine and attachment entries have their own prices. All amounts below are in-game cash, drawn from the progression and vendor sections of the official Update 0.2.0 notes.

New Season 2 weapons: track access versus vendor weapon price
WeaponTypeTrack access in the notesWeapon price
TCX-SPRAssault rifleAssault level 20; $100,000 unlock$3,200
PP-19 BizonSMGMedic track: unlocked by default$1,000
Evo-3 UltraLMGSupport level 30; $200,000 unlock$7,250
M14Marksman rifleRecon level 25; $100,000 unlock$7,400

For example, the M14's $100,000 Recon unlock and its $7,400 vendor entry describe different decisions. Compare the track requirement before planning a purchase, then check the weapon, magazine and attachment entries that make up your intended loadout. The figures do not describe an account's starting balance or a seasonal reset.

The new vehicle choices are the Wolf-110, its M2 Browning variant, the T-72B3 and the Flakpanzer Gepard. The buildable additions are an MG Nest, a Large Shelter and a Wooden Step. Their roles range from transport to anti-air support and fortification; the notes do not establish that one is the best choice in every match.

Role progression changes without an assumed wipe

Update 0.2.0 lowers cumulative role-track XP thresholds. The figures below are total XP thresholds for reaching the named level, not XP earned for one action or the amount needed for a single level. A changed progression curve is a balance change; it does not itself establish that existing progress was deleted. Source: Progression Changes in the official notes.

Selected cumulative role XP thresholds
Role levelSeason 1 thresholdSeason 2 threshold
Level 1035,000 XP25,000 XP
Level 20250,000 XP111,500 XP
Level 501,500,000 XP1,150,000 XP

Unlock positions also move. The Medical Bag changes from Medic level 24 to 14. The PKM moves from Support level 30 to 15, while the M249 moves from 15 to 20. The SPH-2 changes from WARDOG level 90 to Driver level 31. If a familiar item appears in an unexpected place, compare its track and level before treating that difference as evidence of a reset.

Our WARDOGS wipe-date guide separately explains what the checked sources establish about account resets and currency retention. A new season number, different unlock requirement or maintenance window is not a substitute for an explicit account-reset policy.

Combat, weather and construction changes to notice

The damage pass changes calibre base values as well as hit-location behavior. For example, the notes reduce .308 Winchester base damage by 25% and 7.62x39mm by 19%. Those percentages are not universal time-to-kill changes: the same update adjusts weapon categories, hit locations and armor. Read the related entries together when comparing an old loadout with its Season 2 behavior. Source: Combat Balance.

Rain is more than a visual backdrop. It affects spotting distance and Molotov fire, changes the sound of the environment, and introduces synchronized thunder. Infrared rangefinders now consume batteries. These are reasons to reassess visibility and equipment use in the current conditions, rather than assuming an unchanged dry-weather routine.

Construction changes also use different units from weapon prices. The L81 Mortar build cost rises from 150 to 600 build supplies. That is not a $600 vendor purchase or a reward for destroying it. The patch has separate sections for building costs, restocking and destruction rewards; keeping those units apart avoids misleading comparisons.

Other team-facing changes include restrictions on switching sides, a victim-driven team-kill forgiveness system, squad-intent labels and region-based ping limits. A Lonestar-specific cash and XP experiment is described for Season 2, alongside a losing-team vendor discount. These are announced systems, not independently measured win-rate results. Read the exact conditions in the official notes.

Launch content versus later-season plans

The release notes explicitly defer the Wager Vendor until later in Season 2. This source check did not establish a later opening date or its present in-game availability. A feature appearing in a season's notes therefore does not automatically mean it was available at that season's launch.

The Gold Market section adds eight skins and removes the Black & Gold AK listing from that market. A listing change is not a statement that previously owned cosmetics were deleted. Likewise, new Gold Market items do not provide a promise about a player's Gold balance across future seasons. Source: Gold Market and Wager Vendor sections.

As of the source check on Oct 20, 2026, 2:49 PM UTC, the checked official Steam feed's newest release notice remains the October 15 announcement. No later maintenance time was found there. That is a bounded source check, not live server monitoring or a claim to have inspected every social channel.

A quick checklist before returning

  1. Review your role track. Check the new item locations and cumulative XP thresholds before planning unlocks.
  2. Price the actual loadout. Separate unlock payments, vendor purchases, ammunition and build supplies.
  3. Read conditions, not just percentages. Calibre, armor, suppression and weather changes can interact.
  4. Check the right notice. Use the patch timeline for other updates, official status notices for maintenance context, and the countdown page for the next confirmed event when one is available.
